Letter of Lech S. Borkowski to the Rector of University in Poznan, September 30, 2015

Dr hab. Lech S. Borkowski

Prof. Bronislaw Marciniak
Rector

Poznan

Poznan, September 30, 2015

Dear Mr. Rector,

Please read the attached Comment no. 5 dated September 27, 2015. It addresses the performance of the song and dance ensemble of the Russian Ministry of Interior at he special audience in the Vatican on Ostober 15, 2004. The ensemble was invited by pope John Paul II to the celebration of the 26th anniversary of his pontificate.

In 2001 Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan awarded honorary doctorate to John Paul II. It was delivered by the then-rector S. Jurga at a special audience in the Vatican, to which a special 130 person delegation, which included the university senate and university choir, flew with a specially chartered flight. This was bad decision, although an understable one, given the state of institutional pathology, breaking of constitutional and human rights at the university.

I am employed at the University since October 1, 1995. The University did not and does not provide me with normal conditions of professsional scientific development. The University breaks my constitutional and human rights, applying methods developed by the Communist state. This is persecution for political reasons. My parents were prisoners of Communist concentration camps in the Soviet Union from 1945 to 1956 (father) and from 1949 to 1956 (mother).

Neither the Physics department chair nor the University rector required me to validate my Ph.D. from the University of Florida in Gainesville, (1) when employing me in 1995, (2) when renewing my employment in 1996, (3) when employing me again in 1998 after my absence during the 1997-98 academic year, when I worked at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA. By employing me without validation of my diploma both the department chair and the university rector broke the law. However, their decisions are understandable, since the aim was not to let me grow professionally, but rather to block my creative development and force my resignation from the University without leaving a significant trace neither in the University archive nor in the archives of the state institutions.

Yours sincerely,

Dr hab. Lech S. Borkowski

The West's Cognitive Catastrophe Towards Eastern Europe

The Telegraph (UK) published an opinion piece "Does Russia think it should follow any rules at all? And if not, what should we do about it?" by Charles Crawford on October 27, 2016. The author considers the problem of Russia not following any rules at all.

Not so long ago, it was all very different. In the early years after the Cold War ended and Russia claimed its independence, London and Moscow made a genuine effort both to cooperate across the board and to bring a new tone to that cooperation. I helped draft the new treaty signed in 1992 by Prime Minister John Major and Russia’s President Yeltsin proclaiming bilateral peace and friendship:
"The Parties shall develop their relations in good faith. They declare their commitment to the peaceful resolution of disputes, to an open society, to democratic principles and respect for human rights and the rule of law…"
Russian and Western diplomats sat together around the world, closely coordinating positions on the Balkan imbroglio and other policy hotspots. Everyone listened to everyone else and tried to hammer out good joint positions. Things were, for most practical purposes, normal.
This fragment summarizes succintly the type of thinking prevalent in the West regarding relations with Russia. However, the Cold War has not ended. Deception in the communist countries of Eastern Europe, including Russia, continued, entering a new stage: the simulation of democracy and seemingly friendly relations with the West.

Using technical language one may say that Western observers of Eastern Europe were unable to disntinguish between the signal and the noise.

At the end of 1980s the Communists pretended that they lost control of the situation, gave up power and made a transition to democracy. This has taken Western experts completely by surprise. There were no signs that Communism in Eastern Europe would fall apart so suddenly and so easily. The West joyfully declared that the countries of NATO won the Cold War despite the lack of a credible explanation how it really happened.

The situation at the threshold of 1980s/1990s was symbolized by the phrase used by Francis Fukuyama in the title of his book "The End of History" (the full title is "The End of History and the Last Man") in 1993.

It is useful in this context to remind of the following quote from The Red Sword, newspaper of VCheKa troops in Bolshevik Russia:
We do not have and cannot have old foundations of moral and "humanism", invented by the bourgeoisie . . . We are allowed to do anything.

Dear Mr. President,

This letter is a continuation of my letters to you of October 14, 2012, and December 13, 2012.

The phenomenon I describe is a social problem, not a individual case. I would like to present methods of an organized group aimed at liquidating a person as a social being and thoroug annihilation of her psyche with a possibility of causing the person's suicide. In other words, I would like to present the process of the killing of the person's soul.

The entire process is described in detail in documentation spanning several volumes, gathered from the very beginning of these extraordinary and tragic events. Significant part of this documentation is located in the building standing across the street from the presidential palace: in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

CIA shared its most secret intelligence with Moscow via pope JPII

When Ronald Reagan was elected US President in 1980, he hired William C. Casey as CIA Director. Casey has been involved in OSS, the CIA predecessor, during WWII and its immediate aftermath. Later he was a successful businessman.

Casey visited the pope John Paul II in the Vatican early in the Reagan administration. In the following years CIA delivered its most detailed information on Poland and other matters relevant to Wojtyła and the Holy See.

Beginning in the spring of 1981, the Reagan administration maintained an intelligence shuttle at the highest level between the White House and the pope, who was regularly briefed by Casey and Vernon Walters, a former CIA deputy director. Between them, Walters and Casey visited the pope about fifteen times over a six-year period to discuss matters of mutual interest.
The pope's judgments, especially concerning Poland and Central America, came to carry real weight in the White House, the CIA, and the NSC, and above all with Ronald Reagan himself. [...]
Meanwhile, the pope was the beneficiary of some of America's most carefully guarded secrets and sophisticated analysis: information from satellites, from intelligence agents, from electronic eavesdropping, from policy discussions at the White House, State Department, and the CIA. Between 1981 and 1988, General Walters says he met with the pope at approximately six-month intervals, briefing Wojtyła on virtually every aspect of American policy and providing intelligence assessments - military, political, economic - on any and all subjects of interest to the Vatican.

Carl Bernstein and Marco Politi, His Holiness, Doubleday 1996, p. 269
Thus the American administration and the CIA delivered its most secret intelligence and policy analysis straight into Moscow's hands. Communist intelligence, mainly Moscow- and Warsaw-based duped the Americans with any kind nonsense they chose. This is one of the most significant intelligence and political failures in history. A disaster in every respect. Wojtyła was a functionary of the communist intelligence.

NKVD in the Vatican

This video clip shows the Russian Ministry of Interior Choir (MVD Choir) perform the Polish Communist Army Song "Oka" for the the pope John Paul II in the Vatican on October 15, 2005. The MVD Ensemble, formerly NKVD - the dreaded Communist henchmen responsible for murdering millions of innocent people, came to the Vatican by special invitation of JPII to celebrate the 26th anniversary of his pontificate.

Introducing the song, the announcer said only that this was a Polish song. However, the song served purely communist ideological function. It was THE song of the Polish Communist Army. The crowd sitting there with the pontiff not only listened to the Russian Ministry of Interior Choir representing the communist genocide. They listened to the communist army song, which symbolically represents the liquidation of Christianity and Christian values.

Note, that in the video clip title the Ensemble's name is misleading.

The event was broadcast live by Italian and Russian tv channels. Why hasn't it been broadcast to Poland?

NKVD carried out killings of Polish officers and other officials in Katyn in western Russia and other sites in April and May 1940. Many thousands of Polish officers were held in POW camps in Russia following the Soviet invasion in September 1939. The invasion was conducted jointly with Nazi Germany, following the protocol signed between the Nazi and Soviet government in August 1939. Special joint Communist-Nazi victory parade was held in Brzesc on the river Bug on September 22, 1939.

It is pretty obvious now that John Paul II, born Karol Wojtyła, had a very special relationship with the communist intelligence services. To say that this relationship was amicable would be a severe understatement. He came to the Vatican from a very far place indeed.

The MVD Choir's concert is a symbolic Communist victory parade in the Vatican. The march that began in September 1939 culminated with NKVD troops performing in the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican in front of comrade general Wojtyła.

The process of making him a saint was very obviously a farce.

Every toiler a security agent

Mutual surveillance became a civic duty. During the twentieth anniversary of the founding of Cheka-GPU-NKVD, Mikoian stated at the Bolshoi Theater, "Every toiler in our country must also be a security agent." The state procurator Vyshinskii boasted in 1937, "Millions have assisted us in our work!"

Students took NKVD instructions to heart and readily informed on their fellows. [...]

At the same moment that one observed, one was being observed by others. Propagandists clearly enunciated the new regulation: "Every Communist must study the other, noting his past and hist present." Family ties, hobbies, habits - all were of interest.

Stephanie Czech Rader

Stephanie Czech Rader died on January 21, 2016 in Alexandria, Virginia, at the age of 100. Polish media ignored this.

Stephanie was born to Polish immigrants in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Cornell University with a degreee in chemistry in 1937.

She was an Office of Strategic Services agent at the US Embassy in Warsaw in the immediate aftermath of WWII. She traveled Poland and obtained valuable socio-economic information and information on Soviet troop movements. The Legion of Merit was awarded to her posthumously.

The silence of Polish media about her and her intelligence work is very telling.

Fertility of Polish Senate members in 2015

Here is a bit of statistics about fertility of Polish senators in September 2015.

8 senators are childless
16 senators have 1 child
40 senators have 2 children
21 senators have 3 children
5 senators have 4 children
8 senators have 5 children
1 senator has 8 children

The average fertility of a Senate member is 2.27. The average family fertility in Poland is 1.41.

There is positive correlation between fertility and being involved in the so-called "democratic opposition" or among Solidarity leadership before 1990. The data contradict the claim of repressions of the communist dictatorship against members of the "democratic opposition". Purported repressions not only have not reduced fertility, but increased it! One would rather expect the opposite effect: the stress accompanying the underground activity resulting in reduced fertility.

The stachanovite in this area is a certain electrician and the first Solidarity leader having eight children, but he is not a senator. A recent President of Poland, allegedly strongly involved in the underground during 1980s has five children. Life under communism was hard enough even without repressions. It is reasonable to expect that the added effect of repressions would reduce fertility to below average among the "democratic opposition".

Seventeen percent of families in Poland have at least three children. This fraction among the senators is twice as large. Thirty five percent senators have at least three children. Thirty three percent of all children in Poland come from such families. Fifty eight percent of senators' children come families with three children or more.

Here is the raw data for all senators, in alphabetic order:

Thus, the fertility data contradict the official narrative. Instead the entire "democratic opposition" was organized, controlled and led by the communists themselves and their secret services. There is nothing unusal about it.

The Soviet University of Poznan

On October 13, 1963 in Opole, the 10th Sudeten Armored Division of the Polish Communist Army received the name of Heroes of the Soviet Union.

This was during the celebrations to mark the twentieth anniversary of the Polish communist army. The division was formed in Fall 1944. The commander of the division receiving this distinction was col. Marian Koper, who was trained in one of the Soviet military academies in the 1950s. Later Koper served as chief of the Higher School of Armored Forces in Poznan (Wyższa Szkoła Wojsk Pancernych w Poznaniu).

Poznań is also the site of the Poznan University (Uniwersytet Poznanski). It is known today as the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan (Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu). Interestingly the names of several faculty members of Faculty of Physics of this university carry names which also appear among the staff of the Training Center of Ground Forces (Centrum Szkolenia Wojsk Lądowych w Poznaniu).

The post-1945 the Poznan University was molded in a decidedly Bolshevik fashion. I worked there from 1995 to 2015.

I was dismissed from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan in October 2015, despite having tenure. The reason for this decision is political one. My father Bolesław Borkowski deserted from the communist army with a large group of other men on January 13, 1945. Among those who deserted was Józef Franczak, who later conducted undegroung military acts against the communist dictatorship. Franczak was killed in Majdan Kozic Górnych, a village near Lublin, on October 23, 1963. He was the last of the anticommunist resistance within current borders of Poland.

My father talked to Franczak before making the decision to desert. Franczak carried the rank of sergeant in that unit of the communist army. He was very approachable and had a genuine empathy for soldiers under his command. This was of course a drastic decision to make. Those who did desert put their lives on the line. Could they pledge allegiance to the Soviets, as the text of the military pledge demanded? They could not. They could not pledge allegiance to the enemies of Poland. Franczak had decisive influence on my father's decision. However, each of them arrived at this decision voluntarily. No one was forced.

Soviet forces were Nazi allies in 1939-1941 and conducted massive crimes against Polish prisoners of war, civilians and against the entire Polish state during the occupation of 1939-1941. When Soviet army entered Polish territory again in 1944 they were carrying out mass arrests and murders of Polish WWII resistance movement. Most Poles were drafted to the communist army in 1944 against their will.

The current Polish political class pretends to be pro-western and loudly demands NATO forces to be stationed on the Polish territory. However this is only a deception. The West has not learned the rules of communist deception yet. If indeed NATO forces will be stationed on Polish territory, the West will probably think they defend Poland. Instead these forces will be pawns in the game of deception with the main roles played by Russia and their Polish servants.

One story is served publicly to the western leaders and the media, while an entirely different story unfolds unbeknown to the them.

Letter to the President, October 14, 2012

Małgorzata Głuchowska's letter to B. Komorowski, President of Poland

Bronisław Komorowski
President of Poland
ul. Wiejska 10
00-902 Warsaw

Zielona Góra, October 14, 2012
Dear Mr. President,

A year ago, after twenty years of my impeccable service and irreproachable social conduct I became the target of a series of attacks and provocations conducted with the aim to destroy my professional and social existence. Our family and I suffer loss of health, bear moral and financial losses.

I am a teacher of piano at the State School of Music in Zielona Góra. I try to carry out my duties as best I can. I share my knowledge and professional passion with the young generation. Together with my husband, a university professor, we try to give Poland our best. We are well educated, creative and ambitious. We were brought up as sensitive and responsive persons, easily communicating with students and coworkers. We come from families identifying with traditional values, on which our ancestors built Poland.

The action to liquidate Małgorzata Głuchowska began in September 2011. I was forced through hell on earth. The evidence of this process is in the hands of Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. I informed the Ministry of Culture regularly and provided all documents. Thus the whole process was conducted with full knowledge and, as events showed, with full approval of the government.

The State and its society consist of individuals. The persecution of even a single citizen is action against the State. This is totalitarianism of a new type, a dictatorship differing from communism in name, colors of decorations and the set of lies publicly repeated many times over. This is a dictatorship without a doubt. The first victims of dictatorship are person's fundamental rights, dignity and good name.

The official propaganda of the last twenty years tried to deceive that this is the best period in the entire thousand years of Poland's history. This is not true, because it ignores the most obvious facts of everyday life of our country.

We live in a totalitarian, lawless state. Individuals, their health, personal lives, and professional careers are ruthlessly destroyed. My experience shows that there is not a single institution in Poland defending the law. The state authorities do not react either. This proves that my assessment of the situation is correct.

This letter was also sent to Prime Minister D. Tusk and to B. Zdrojewski, Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

Destruction of Heritage in Poland

Recently one of the newspapers reported that a nineteenth century villa on the outskirts of Warsaw was destroyed by an investor, who bought the site earlier. The building was not in good shape and had to be renovated. It was, however, registered as a historical monument and an alteration of its architectural integrity was not possible. Repairs and renovations of such objects are subject to close scrutiny of a special office of the regional government. A destruction of the building is absolutely out of the question.

However, the monument was first demolished and then taken off the register of historical monuments by the minister of culture and national heritage.

The law has been violated. Part of the heritage is gone. Such stories are repeated over and over again in Poland. Why does it happen?

The answer is pretty simple. The process of gradual removal of pre-1945 heritage continues. The same process has been carried out before 1990. This is a planned erasure of the pre-1945 past. It is carried out piece by piece to make it appear as a series of unfortunate circumstances. In theory the law and the appropriate authority should prevent it. However, the use of law is subject to "revolutionary dynamics", as Stanisław Mackiewicz wrote in his book "Russian Minds in Fetters" (George Allen & Unwin Ltd, 1932). The Polish title is "Myśl w obcęgach". Sometimes the law is being applied and sometimes it is not.

The main difference between the pre-1990 and post-1990 destruction of the past is the type of excuse used by the authorities. Post-1990 excuse is the capitalist anarchy of developers. However the real reason in most, if not all, cases is the same as before 1990.

The Collapse of Reason

The Hoover Institution published the book „The Collapse of Communism” in 2000. It contains the article “The Grand Failure” by Zbigniew Brzeziński, adapted from his book under the same title published in 1989. The article begins with the following paragraph.

“A single crucial fact is the key to understanding the fall of communism in Eastern Europe: Marxism-Leninism was an alien doctrine imposed on the region by an imperial power whose rule was culturally repugnant to the dominated peoples. As a result, a process of organic rejection of communism by East European societies – a phenomenon similar to the human’s body rejection of a tranplanted organ – ensued. This process played out in a contest between national forces seeking ways to free their societies from Moscow’s dogma and Soviet attempts to develop new ways to retain ultimate control over region’s destiny.”
This interpretation is incorrect.

Communism did not collapse. Instead, it was the collapse of reason among the observers of communism. Communism underwent a fully controlled restructuring, partly subsidized by western democracies. Power remained in the same hands. The communists states were criminal organizations and remained criminal. The range of illegal activities encompassed by the word "criminal" is not the same as in western democracies. There are types of criminal activities, which exist e.g. in Poland and do not exist in the West. This is due to the fact that the communist power structure remained unchanged.

The pre-1990 communist symbolism was replaced by religious symbolism. However this is only a camouflage. Religious symbolism used by the Polish state apparatus today plays the role of battle fatigues. It is a weapon in the service of deception and not an expression of religious zeal among the polit-apparatchiks.

Lenin is credited with saying "capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them". It turned out he was a pessimist. Communists did not have to buy the rope from the West. The West is providing the rope for free.

Persecution for political reasons in Poland

I and my wife were both dismissed from our jobs at the end of 2015 for political reasons. Enclosed is a release we wrote recently.

Western obervers are unaware how deeply criminal are the activities of the Polish state apparatus, regardless of who is currently in power. EU allows the functionaries of the Polish criminal state to run the EU affairs through its institutions. This means that people who are responsible for the criminality of their own state participate in dictating the rules for democratic countries to follow.

This situation will have negative effect on Europe. Western political class is extremely naive about the state of affairs in countries of Eastern Europe. The keyword is "deception".

Things have not changed. The Solidarity trade union was created by communist intelligence service in order to make a controlled change of public decorations, keeping the substance of their power intact. Political parties in Poland are fake creations.

Persecution for political reasons in Poland

We were both dismissed simultaneously from our jobs in state institutions at the end of 2015, after many years of repression and various provocations. [...] Typical communist methods were used.

LSB obtained a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Florida in 1995 and began working at the university in Poznan. Here he was permanently bullied and humiliated. The authorities and "colleagues" blocked his professional development both openly and covertly. The reason for this treatment are decisions taken by his parents in defense of Polish souvereignty against Soviet invaders. Parents were sent to communist concentration camps in 1945 and 1949 by the NKVD war tribunal. LSB is proud of his parents. He was always against the communist dictatorship in Poland after WWII and never found any justification for it. Communist laws still apply in Poland and communist methods of falsifying the reality are widely used. The functionaries of this criminal state try to destroy professional life and various areas of life of their targets.

Science and culture have decisive influence on the character of the state. Persecution of scientists and artists who reject falsification of history and falsification of the current public narrative proves the criminal character of the state. The police and the prosecuting authorities are taking active part in this criminal activity. This method has been used before and it is used now. Poland is neither free nor souvereign. Poland's public narrative is subjugated to Russian interests, which closely follow those of the Soviet Union. Methods applied against us were developed by communist functionaries.

NKVD has its followers in Poland. It is no coincidence that the communist labor code of 1974 remains in effect. Its aim is to facilitate control, repression, and social murder.

Contemporary methodology of falsifying juridical proceedings, including public prosecution, is modeled on Soviet patterns. This is a routine method used also by functionaries of government ministries, universities, schools and other public institutions. Repressions against LSB have not ceased after 1990, and repressions against his wife began shortly after she married LSB in 1997.

Comrade W.

Comrade Wolski, an extremely privileged member of the Communist nomenklatura, (see also here for the text in Polish) is an excellent example of how the Communists created their own "opposition" in Poland in 1970s in order to steer and manipulate the public mood.

The Solidarity trade union was created by the Communist dictatorship. Period.

Organized violence in Poland

The text included below is part of the letter sent in May 2013 by Małgorzata Głuchowska to a person active in public life both in Poland and in United States. The original letter was in Polish. This is its English translation.

----------
The psychological torture was administered methodically, day by day, in a planned and thoughtful manner. For a long time. I was forced into situations where there was no good choice. I was ordered to thank publicly my oppressors. I was pressured to do things against the law. I was many times pressured to explain matters that I already explained earlier. I was falsely accused of neglecting to fulfill some obligations, although at the same time I was prevented from meeting those obligations. I was slandered, accused of theft. I was vilified in the eyes of all school employees, our school students, their parents and the entire artistic community. The repressions continued also outside school. I was harassed and bullied with telephone calls, emails, letters and phone text messages. It was an attempt to strip me of honor, dignity and humanity. This was very similar to a gang rape, with the exception that the target of the rape was not my body but my soul.

I desperately looked for help. I notified people and institutions who were supposed to be the guardians of law and order, whose task was to preserve citizens' dignity and safety. It turns out those institutions do not fulfill their duties. Quite the opposite. They are actively engaged against the victim on the side of the oppressors. A large number of functionaries contribute to an extended, slow execution of the victim. Who are they? They are representatives of the government ministries, prosecutors, trade unions, lawyers and doctors.

The henchmen follow prescribed scenarios. Well-trained schemes of action. The basic tools are various types of provocations and other efforts to destroy the victim's psyche. They prepare traps for the victim to fall into. The attack is usually conducted from several sides simultaneously. Among the attackers is an old friend from school, a friend from my hometown, people I have known (or more precisely, I have thought to know) for years, as well as people previously unknown to me. Their faces expressed happiness and satisfaction, which grew in proportion to my pain. Assured of impunity they had no moral brakes or scruples.

Functionary W.

When Robert Kennedy was assassinated in 1968, the leading Polish communist military daily Zolnierz Wolnosci (Żołnierz Wolności, if you include diacritical marks) published a poem by one 21-year old. It appeared on the second page of the June 12 edition. This was very unusal. The second page was devoted to national and international news. This was not a place for poems, whatever their value might be.

The poem was entitled "Three shots" and spoke about assassinations of John Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy. It suggested that the same conspiracy was behind all three deaths. The artistic value of the piece was nil. It was simply a piece of propaganda.

This peculiar kind of author's recognition indicated that (1) this young man was trusted by the top communist military authorities, and (2) he was selected to make a great career under the watchful eye of the communist apparatus. And this is exactly what happened. Communist careers did not just happen. They were carefully planned and carefully executed.

In the 1970s functionary W. worked in the radio, writing and directing satirical programs. Satire was no different from the rest of the communist reality. It was also under a strict control. Satirical production was designed and planned just like production of coalmines and steelworks. W. became head of the radio's communist organization, part of PZPR, Polish United Workers Party.

After 1990, i.e. after the simulated peaceful departure from communism, functionary W. was presenting "conservative" and "right-wing" views. His texts appeared even in parish bulletins, which theoretically should lie at the antipole of Zolnierz Wolnosci.

He became head of the First Polish Radio channel in 2006-2007 and more recently head of the Warsaw chapter of the Polish Journalist Association (SDP).

Comrade W. symbolizes the fiction and comedy of the so-called "democratization" in Poland.

Polish criminal state

Contemporary Polish state and a criminal organization is one and the same thing. The Communist state, formed as a result of the Soviet aggression against Poland in WWII, was a criminal organization and it remained such to this day. Directions in which the public narrative in Poland is falsified change from time to time. However the public narrative and the state's criminal activities remain subjugated to the same interests as in 1944-1989. Polish authorities fulfill subservient roles with regard to their Russian counterparts.

Hastily formed public lies and fabricated political parties are quite transparent in fact. One only has to think somewhat in order to see the full extent of the misery of falsifications produced by the criminal apparatus. Comrades from the government, political parties and their political "opponents" form one harmonious criminal family. This conclusion follows inevitably from the facts and from simple critical analysis of basic methods of fabricating the entire public sphere of life in the country.

The Communist Labor Code of 1974 Remains in Force in 2016

On June 26, 1974 the Communist "parliament" in Poland accepted the Labor Code, which remains on the books to this day. This is a set of regulations designed to control the key aspects of labor. It contains a number of tools to punish anyone who is inconvenient for political reasons.

No one in the Polish public life called for abolishing the communist repressive measures contained in the 1974 Labor Code. Why? Because they are used against anyone standing up for basic human values, such as truth, dignity, human rights.

The canonization of an illusion

I recently read a review (1) of an apparently carefully researched book (2) on the activities of Mother Theresa of Calcutta. The book examines critically the reality behind the myth. A German tv documentary expressed similar concern (I don't have a reference at the moment). A recent article also examines Mother Theresa's legacy. (3)

There are other heroes whose image appears to have been manufactured. One of them happened to be a strong backer of Mother Theresa. His name is John Paul II, or Karol Wojtyła, before he became the pope. The widely propagated image of the late pope is that of communism's adversary. Unfortunately, this is a manufactured image, not reality. There are many puzzling episodes in his life. The same is true for his ideas/ideology. He was catapulted into sainthood with a turbo-speed. But as time goes by it is becoming more and more clear that reality contradicts the propagated image. The story is much bigger and is linked to the Solidarity movement of the 1980s in Poland, which was also a fake.

In conclusion, the author writes "Over the years, Forbes India, Britain’s Channel 4 TV and journalist Christopher Hitchens have all investigated the millions of dollars unaccounted for by Missionaries of Charity. But their reports have not been enough to spur public action: awareness can only go so far against the idea of the consecrated."

Comrade Orban

The career of the current prime minister of Hungary, Victor Orban, began at quite an early age of 14, when he became the secretary of KISZ, the communist youth organization in his school. Orban maintains that membership in KISZ was necessary when applying for admission to a university. Perhaps. Possibly. However, there is a difference between being a member and being organization's secretary. In communist parlance secretary is Comrade Number One. It should also be verified whether the membership in the communist youth organization was obligatory when applying for the university. For example in Poland members of communist organizations received extra points in the qualification process.

We should keep in mind that one could not simply become a secretary in any communist organization spontaneously. In the case of young communists the school functionaries had to make sure that the "right" candidate won. Only the most trusted cadre had a chance to hold this position. It implied also that candidate's family was trustworthy from the ideological point of view.

In his story Orban said that he became disenchanted with Communism during his two-year military service before entering the Eotvos University in Budapest. It does not seem believable. It sounds like a typical Communist excuse.

He graduated with a law degree in 1987. He wrote his master's thesis about the Polish trade union movement Solidarnosc. However, one should remember that writing theses on controversial topics was restricted to those whom the communists trusted. Therefore the Orban's story is not credible. Most likely he was being prepared for a new role in the near future, which is exactly what happpened.

Orban's story is a strong argument for the Communists' anticipation of the coming changes. There was nothing spontaneous about the changes 1989-90. The scenario of reshaping Communism so that the power and control remained in the same hands was simultaneously being prepared in different countries of the Soviet bloc.

In 1989 he received the Soros foundation stipend for a stay in Oxford, where he spent four months. His tutor was Zbigniew Pelczynski, a man with excellent contacts in Polish communist circles. Incidentally, another pupil of Pelczynski was R. Sikorski from Poland, whom the communists also prepared for a future role of a "right-wing" or "conservative" politician.

The early career of Orban is full of fortuitous circumstances. Typical for young Communist delegated to new challenging tasks ahead.

Communist tools of political persecution

One of the myths of contemporary mythology is the post-1990 democratization of Eastern Europe.

Human rights are routinely violated in Poland using communist tools, such as "occupational health services" in Poland.

The current Polish labor code was introduced under the communist dictatorship in 1974. Although it has been modified somewhat over the years, it is essentially the same framework as in 1974. Specifically, there is an obligation for the employee to undergo a medical examination before returning to work after a medical leave exceeding 30 days.

The occupational medical service has little to do with real protection of health. It is a repressive measure which can be easily used to punish anyone for purely political reasons by issuing a false health report, thus preventing a person to return to his/her job. Occupational medical service is an entirely separate branch of medicine in Poland, independent of regular physicians and hospitals. Their medical "examinations" are conducted regardless of decisions and expertise of the regular medical service. For example, you may be declared perfectly fit for work by the hospital or the primary care physician, and simultaneously you may be declared unfit for work by the occupational medicine.

On Dec. 15, 2015 the regional occupational medical center in Zielona Gora in western Poland issued a document banning my wife's return to work. The document is a total falsification of reality. It is a total fraud.

My wife is a great pianist and an excellent piano teacher. Teaching piano is her passion. Her students earned many prizes in national and international competitions.

Our family is persecuted for political reasons.
